Syrian Hamster Food

Syrian hamster diet should consist of a high quality lab block, high quality seed mix, and fresh vegetables and fruit. You can also feed them protein items like meal worms (fresh or dried), boiled chicken with no seasoning, scrambled egg with no seasoning or tofu among many others. Seed mix should be scattered around the enclosure to encourage foraging, as opposed to just put into a bowl. Save the bowl for the fresh food! Treats can be given in moderation. I like to hide them in tunnels or dig boxes or hides. They're also a great way to bond with your hamster, so hand feeding them a treat can help in the taming process! Sprays are another great addition to your enclosure. Sprays allows them to work for their food, it gives them another variety in their diet, it can provide clutter to make them feel safer, and they look great!

Sprays & Treats

The list below is not exhaustive; these are ones I've tried and can attest to. When choosing sprays and treats, please make sure sprays are organic, and any nuts and seeds are unsalted and unseasoned.
